Contemplation

So, I forgot about this again. Sue me.
Thanks to Anne A for reminding me, although she has no idea she did.

So here's the thing...
I need to make some money (I know, you do too, right?). I'm thinking about selling for this really cool company called Thirty-one Gifts. Have you heard of them? If not, take a peek www.thirtyonegifts.com and let me know what you think. The kids line is TDF!

And for the bad news...I'm closing my ebay store. I'm taking it slow but I'm closing it. Ebay has tanked and I can't stand it anymore. So, it's gotta go. I'll take just about any reasonable offer, so visit me. www.allaboutgirlsglitzandglam.com.com

Meanwhile, I'll still paint somethin' for ya. Look me up!

So, uhmmm, I forgot about it again...

Yeah, so sue me...seriously. I guess you really can't teach an old dog new tricks. How many more cliches can I come up with? LOTS! But I'm too tired right now.
It's been a long day. Lots of egg hunting, fish breeding, garden tending...my list was so long. ;-)
Yeah, my new addiction is Facebook and all the silly applications that come with it. At first it was the innocent word games to sharpen my skillz, then I got sucked into the egg hunt, then the Lil Green Patch (to save the world, of course), then H2Opia (so that I can provide clean water to underdeveloped countries). I do it all for the betterment of society. Nevermind I'm getting nothing else done. It's a trap...crack for housewives. And I just can't stop!!!!
But on the flip side, I've made some really cool cyberfriends and reconnected with some old friends that I missed. So it's not all bad. Now convince Scott.

Meanwhile, my youguns have gone back to school. Meredith to 5th; Alex to pre-k. Scott is on to another get-rich quick scheme. Life seems normal...as normal as it gets around here.

Drop me a line sometime. Come visit me on Facebook. I'm always there. ;-0

I'm just not a Blogger...

I'm so glad Alison started a blog, because I forgot about my blog AGAIN! I'm just not a blogger, obviously.

So, I'll be an occasional blogger and I know you will be waiting anxiously for my next post. Tee hee.

I do have some exciting news! Meredith got her first REAL grown-up hair cut! She looks so OLD! The cut is adorable. It's a mini-Kelly Clarkson. Meredith thinks she is all that and a microphone, for sure!

Check out the pics.

Other than that, we've been SWIMMING. We bought an above-ground pool last year on clearance (how smart are we?), and we have been in it almost every day, until....

cue the sinister music....

Alex now has swimmers ear!

So we are OUT of the pool until Saturday. Nobody is complaining loudly, yet.

And, last but not least, my paintings are really selling well lately. I'm about to venture into the birth announcement arena. When I get those finished, I will post pics.

Take care!!

I forgot about my blog!

Yes it's true! I forgot about my blog! Life got busy the last few weeks. Scott and his cousin Mark Grissom and friend Dewayne Peacock have partnered to start a new business called Backdoor Frames and they have worked so hard building THE most beautiful picture frames. They took them to the Canton Flea Market and Brandon Day. It was quite an experience, I must say. We are all exhausted (and I didn't even build them!).

I did make out with one of the most beautiful frames for my mother's day gift! Thanks, hubby! I'll post a picture later. It's so gorgeous, it makes the rest of my decor look dingy! So I guess you know what that means...new frames for everything! :-)

I suppose as soon as school is out and I get my house in order, I will host a picture frame party. They are all the rage now. Everyone is having them. I suppose as a wife of the owner of the company I really should have one. Sigh. I'm so not the party type. You WILL be expected to come!! I'll also be setting up a web page AND an ebay store for them. I'm just the bestest wife ever, aren't I? Say yes!! I need the boost to my ego.

The girls BOTH had their dance recital this past Friday night at Thalia Mara Hall. I had no idea how difficult it would be to have two daughters in one recital! Forget the logistics involved in preparing them and their "things." I had quite a hard time juggling my time backstage between the two of them. I was supposed to be room mother for Alex's group, but I neglected to realize that I would miss Meredith's performances if someone couldn't step in for me and let me go watch from backstage. That was interesting. Running back and forth, back and forth and back and forth, all the while making sure I didn't lose not one of those SEVENTEEN precious 4-year-olds. Yes, I'm tired.

Alex played T-ball at 9a.m. the next morning. She did great! She's going to be a really good ball player. She hit well and fielded three balls this time! Go Alex! Meredith sat on the sidelines in all pink, looking all blinged out like the girl she is. They are so different.

We spent the rest of Saturday walking around Brandon Day, talking with friends both old and new, riding carnival rides and eating dippin' dots. It was a good day.

Mother's Day was nice...I slept a lot, the kids sorta cleaned the house and I had ice cream for supper. Doesn't get much better than that.

No wonder I forgot to blog...

How I Became an Artist

OK. I'm not REALLY an artist, I'm a crafter, but I do create art of sorts. I paint, so maybe I'm a painter? A few months ago, I decided to start painting personalized children's canvases. I did a few, gave them away. People seemed to like them. I sold a few to my friends. They are still speaking to me. So I took that as a good sign. I listed them on ebay. Sold a few. Got good feedback. Hmmm. This might be a good thing.

So, I thought I might start to branch out with it. I'm going to sell personalized lap desks. They are so cute! Painted wooden tops attached to a clear, Rubbermaid box! The box, is of course, for your little artist/intellectual to keep their supplies in. Very nice for mommy not to have stuff everywhere! I will post some pictures when Scott and I get the first one finished or I will post the pictures of our first disaster! Pray it turns out well and that we don't need counseling after it is over.
Oh yeah, just to be even more blatently commercial, I sell them for $25 each, if you are interested...and that's for the paintings and the lap desks (if we ever get one made!).

My Interview

1: What is your favorite childhood memory?
The very first thing that popped into my mind was the day that my grandfather, Getter, came to my house and told my brother and me that he had a "cupcake" for us at his house. We were thinking, "Couldn't you have just brought it to us?" But we loaded into his baby poop green colored Model J and drove the 15 miles to his home in the sticks to eat our cupcakes....of course without seatbelts, which I'm sure it didn't have. When we got there, he was very upset to find our "cupcake" had escaped! Escaped? A cupcake? To our delight, Cupcake was a Shetland pony!!! After we and a few neighbors wrangled her back to the house, we met our new Cupcake...what a TREAT!

2: Describe your personality?
Wow, I hate these kinds of questions. I'd love to say I'm the life of the party, everybody loves me, I can do no wrong...blah blah. But in all reality, I'm just normal. I'm a bit shy, but light years better than I used to be. I'm a decent mom, but no super mom. I'm a good wife...better than he pretends I am! I do my best to be a good friend and I know I'm a good listener. I'm a people pleaser and I detest conflict. Is that enough??

3: What is your most embarrassing moment?
My most recent embarrassing moment was sending a Facebook group invitation out without really looking at the group closely. It was not the kind of group I wanted to be associated with or that I wanted my friends to be associated with and I had to do some seriously backpedaling for that one! Beyond that, I fell in the doorway of Wal-mart one time...nobody seemed to care, though. Another time, I said a really bad word in front of someone that I didn't mean to and wanted to crawl under a rock!

4: if you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Italy...I've always thought Italy. I don't know why. And then I met someone who had actually been there and she said, "YES! GO THERE!" And now I really want to go. Maybe Negin and I can go together some day.

5: If you could change jobs, what would you do?
I love being a stay-at-home mom and I don't want another job, but if I HAD to do something else I would open a Florist Shop. I always said by the time I was 40 I would stop whatever I was doing and open one. I have two years...

Now it's your turn. If you want to be interviewed, leave me a comment including the words "Interview me." I will respond by e-mailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your blog, please provide one. You will update your blog with a post containing your answers to the questions. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

So, this is a blog?!

So, this is a blog? I've blogged? For real? Now I can say, Keena has blogged. I guess next time I stop by, I'll actually have something to blog about. But for now, I'll just say a quick HELLO! Welcome to my blog spot appropriately named after my store because in my life everything is all about girls, glitz and glam...after all, I'm the mom of two girls who glam it up every chance they get!

See ya soon!
